Päivi

 Hello IP2011 - participants.

Keywords for Päivi: web based youth work and social media, external information of a youth organization by social media tools, Moodle e-learning platform and blended learning.
Since 2009 I have worked at the University of Applied Sciences HUMAK as senior lecturer. HUMAK is in co-operation with two other organizations publishing a book about Web based youth work. I am one of three authors of the book and been writing article for it about social media and external information of youth organization (youth organization = municipality youth work, youth information and counseling, open youth activity house, NGO etc.). So that was one of my work tasks last autumn. Book will be published at 15th of April 2011
During 2010 we at HUMAK planned a curriculum and launched a new e-course of the Web Based Youth Work and Youth Activities (includes social media). I am responsible for E-teaching this 15 ETC course with 20 participants. It is a lot of work, fun and as well it is interesting to organize all in e-tools, so participants do not meet at all during e-course. We do have Adobe Connect live real time lessons regularly. It means twice a month for two hours.  This presentation of mine is rather work orientated, but. for hobbies, maybe I could share that I have been two times at beginners class for playing Violin. And one of my hobbies has been some European issues related to youth information and counseling..

My home campus is Nurmijärvi (Riikka as well), ca. 45 km from capital, Helsinki where I live. I like my towns very much -welcome!

I believe this is the role of, non formal education, particularly youth and social work to promote and defend some human values in order to give opportunities for people to build a better living together...that's the main reason for me to do this job.

Coming from Bretagne, France, I work for Luciole NGO which aims:

-       to promote active participation of inhabitants in social life, particularly of young adults

-       to promote intercultural and human rights education

I’ve mainly 3 ways to act: coaching / training / project designing

Regarding our target groups, we try to work with all actors of education (children, young, teachers and trainers, teachers of teachers and trainers of trainers, youth workers, civil society, local authorities…) from local to European level. I'm working also with some municipalities, Youth Directorate of the Council of Europe and Youth in Action program.

I'm also teacher at the university of social work of Rennes...Because I do belive that we need to deelop bridges between formal and non formal education actors and institutions, we are all here to equip people to build their place in the society!!!
